The Roman Republic and the U.S. government are very similar but also very different. One similarity between the two is that we both have constitutions. A difference is that we have one president, and they had two rulers. Another similarity is that we each relied on someone to make our decisions. Also, we each had senators. The reason that Rome switched from a monarchy to a republic was because the monarchy ruler was overthrown.
